Woweee! Climbing trees sounds like a lot of fun.

We previously featured Minnesota illustrator Ben Hework, who was laughing along with his thoughts of animals flirting like people and showing his enormously popular Pixie and Brutus comic works, on His Pet Foolery Instagram feed, which features “goofy little comics” in various animal styles, has exploded in popularity, with Pixie and Brutus’s popularity propelling him to over 2 million followers.

The secret to the pair’s success is the contrast between Pixie, a cute, naïve kitten described by Ben as “joyful and lively,” and Brutus, a gruff, jaded former (M) dog. They experience all sorts of adventures, with Pixie’s eager bumblings adding despair to the serious and often cranky Brutus. He does, however, have a soft spot for her and would go to great lengths to defend her! “Honestly, Pixie and Brutus were simply another strange comic concept that I had while at work,” Ben said in an interview.

I had no intention of making a series of them; I only thought it would be fun to introduce a sweet tiny kitten to a large, terrifying war dog. So I made the first Pixie and Brutus comic, and people liked it so much that I kept doing it.

And today, he is still making them! Scroll down to see this comic..
